We are in the early stages of production of "Star Crossed Lovers" a SAG-AFTRA ultra low budget feature film. It is an independent film adaptation of William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet", where I play Romeo's cousin and confidante, Benevolia. "Star Crossed Lovers" keeps the original language of "Romeo and Juliet" while editing it to fit today's modern age. Check out our: Official Website & Facebook! Produced by John Hedlunk and Francesco Nuzzi association with Exit 172 Productions. |

The As You Watch Podcast features Nick (The Cinematic Katzenjammer), Joe (Two Dude Review), and Vern (The Vern’s Videovangaurd). As separate bloggers, they wanted to make a podcast of sorts, but never had the means nor the editing finesse to do so. What started as a small project has turned into a weekly podcast where they discuss their favorite movies, what’s being released, and just discuss the cinematic world in general. Many changes have happened over the progression of the podcast, and we’re now at the point where we have a new guest each week, broadening horizons and putting others through the ringer.
This week they interviewed Amy Taylor (Director and Writer of Jess Archer VS) and myself! We had a great time recording and promoting the new webseries! I just got back from visiting Monomoy Theatre, which after this year will no longer be affiliated with Ohio University. It is very unfortunate that Ohio University will no longer have a home on the Cape, but hopefully it will lead to a new internship relationship for future OU students. While I was at Monomoy I was able to see the production of "Enemy of the People" which was an excellent OU farewell filled with OU faculty, alum, and current BFA and MFA students. Monomoy gave me my first opportunity to work professionally as an actor and it will always hold a special place in my heart. For more info and for tickets please visit: www.monomoytheatre.com
A letter from a teacher who saw "Romeo + Juliet":
"I just wanted to thank you and your cast and crew for a wonderful performance of "Romeo and Juliet" this past week. My kids absolutely loved it and I have heard them in the halls telling all of their other teachers and classmates about the show. It's just an amazing thing to hear a child with special needs and behavioral issues getting up in front of his class and talking about how in the play Mercutio did this or Benvolio did that, while everyone listens attentively to him. We can't wait to come back next year, and maybe I can even bring the upperclassmen to see "Macbeth" or "Hamlet" if that becomes available. Again, thank you so much for your dedication to the arts and your consideration of the younger kids." The Incubator Arts Project was the first the first stage I've ever performed on in NYC. I am very sad to see it go. I only did two shows ("GEEK!" and "Alice in Slasherland") there, but it will forever hold a place in my heart. Here is a letter from the staff at The Incubator Arts Project. "After 20 years upstairs at the historic St. Mark's Church-in-the-Bowery, Richard Foreman's Ontological-Hysteric Theater—famous for its baroquely designed avant-garde productions—will cede control to the Incubator, the adventurous developmental series with an eye for the best in local experimental theater. Tina Satter, Theater of a Two-Headed Calf and Target Margin have all done work here recently, working around the space's crazy, asymmetrical shape and weirdly placed columns to make some of the season's most exciting work." -Time Out NY Here is a mostly improvised scene I filmed with some fellow Ohio University students back in 2012. I hope you enjoy the footage! Check out this article from American Theatre magazine featuring Vampire Cowboy's own Qui Nguyen! There is a nice interview with Qui and a little nod to "Alice in Slasherland".
"Qui Nguyen, co-artistic director of New York City’s Vampire Cowboys Theatre Company, arguably the best-known geek theatre company in America, contends, “Geeks are savvy, smart and very selective when it comes to where they spend their dime. Just because there’s a cape onstage doesn’t mean it will suddenly unleash the geeksters upon your theatre.” "Nguyen’s plays, such as She Kills Monsters and Alice in Slasherland, routinely sell out to a young, hip crowd that eludes the marketing departments of most traditional performing arts organizations." Read the full article here! It is a new year! Time to hit the ground running with some new headshots! Gina Delia, a good friend of mine was the photographer and editor. I would highly recommend her. She has affordable prices, sophisticated equipment, and a high-end final product. Check out her website for more of her work or to schedule an appointment.
Thanks to all who came out to see our sold out run. I will leave you all with this little video some of the cast and crew made! Until next time Slasherlanders! |
